We collect limited personal data necessary to operate and maintain the app. This includes:
We do not collect location data, biometric data, contact lists, or advertising identifiers.
We rely on the following legal bases under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR:
We use your data to:
We do not use personal data for advertising or profiling. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.
We share data with trusted service providers for technical support and hosting, solely for purposes necessary to operate and develop the app. These providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect personal data and comply with applicable law.
Where personal data is transferred outside the UK or EEA, we ensure adequate safeguards are in place, including the use of the UK extension to the EU-US data Privacy Framework, the UK Addendum to EU Standard Contractual Clauses, IDTA, or other recognised transfer mechanisms.
We will retain personal data only for as long as you have a Glurbs account, unless we are required by law to retain it for longer (for example, subscription payment information).
You are always able to fully delete your Glurbs account, and any information stored by going to the Settings area, and clicking ‘Delete Account’.
You have the following rights under data protection law:
Commissioners Office (ICO).
Although Nubridge Publishing Ltd does not meet the thresholds for mandatory CCPA compliance, we provide the following information for transparency:
California residents have the right to request access to and deletion of their data, and to be free from discrimination for exercising their rights.
Glurbs is designed for young children and we take our responsibilities under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act seriously. We limit the information we collect from children, and we ensure that any collection is carried out in a way that protects their privacy and safety.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without the consent of a parent or legal guardian. The app can be used without sharing any identifying information. A username can be
anonymous, and an email address is never required for a child to access or enjoy the app.
Where we need to collect any personal information that falls within COPPA’s scope, we obtain verifiable parental consent before doing so. This means we will take reasonable steps to confirm that the person providing consent is the child’s parent or guardian. If consent is not granted, we do not collect the information and the child can continue to use the core functions of the app without giving us identifiable data.
We use the limited information we collect only to operate the app, maintain security, and improve performance. We do not use children’s information for advertising, profiling, or any activity that is not necessary for the functioning of the service. We also do not sell or share personal information for commercial purposes. These controls reflect COPPA requirements as well as the broader expectations found in many US state privacy laws that emphasise the protection of children’s data.
Parents and guardians have the right to review the information we hold about their child, request that we delete it, or instruct us to stop collecting further information. They may contact us at any time using support@glurbs.com
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without proper consent, we will delete it promptly.
Our approach reflects a wider commitment to children’s privacy in the United States. Regulators at both federal and state level actively monitor services aimed at children, and we design Glurbs to meet these expectations
by keeping data collection to a minimum, applying safety measures throughout the app, and providing clear information to parents.
We follow the UK Age Appropriate Design Code and UKGDPR principles when designing the app. We apply Data Protection by Design and Default throughout our development and maintenance and where new legal advice or guidance is issued by regulatory bodies, we take action to ensure that our app aligns to it.

Glurbs is running the Language Quest competition from 18 May to 12 July 2026, in partnership with Language Angels schools. If you have come to Glurbs through this competition, this section explains how your data is used.
Schools that opt into the competition are issued with a unique code. When a parent or child enters this code in the Glurbs app, their account is linked to that school for the purposes of the competition leaderboard. This is the only change to how data is used during the competition period. No additional personal data is collected. A
username (which does not need to identify you or your child in any way) and a password are all that is required
to create a Glurbs account; an email address for account recovery purposes remains entirely optional.
Scores that contribute to a school’s leaderboard total are based solely on in-app progress. No usernames or personal data are displayed on any leaderboard: only the school name, the number of active learners, and the school’s points total are visible.
Teachers who have opted their school into the competition may view the full school leaderboard within their Language Angels account, but this contains no personal data relating to individual pupils or their families. Participation by pupils and parents is entirely voluntary.
We do not sell, share, or use competition data for advertising or profiling. The lawful basis for this processing is Legitimate Interests. We have assessed that it does not change the nature of the data we hold, introduces no new risk to individuals, and is proportionate to the educational purpose of the competition.
We keep this privacy notice up to date, and will always make sure that it is a true reflection of how we process your data. Any significant changes will be communicated through the app.

To help the app work properly, we sometimes need to use a few small pieces of information, such as:
We use this information so that the app can work well and stay safe for children using it. It helps us understand what is working, fix problems and make the app better to use.
A small number of people who help run the app may need to see your information so they can make sure the app works properly. They must keep your information safe and are not allowed to use it for anything else. We do not sell your information or use it for adverts.
The Glurbs app is designed to be safe for children. You do not need to share personal information to play. You can also choose a username that does not reveal who you are.
If an adult has given consent, we may use the small amount of information described above. An adult can contact us at any time to:
If we ever find out that a child under 13 has given us information without proper consent from an adult, we will delete it as soon as possible.
If you or an adult delete your Glurbs account, the information linked to it is deleted from our systems unless we have to keep it for a little longer because the grown-ups in charge of the rules say we must.
Glurbs is running a special competition called Language Quest for schools that use Language Angels. If your teacher has told you about it, here is what you need to know.
Your school will be given a special code to use in the Glurbs app. When you enter the code, your Glurbs account is linked to your school so that the points you earn in the game can help your school win a prize. That is the only change. Everything else stays the same as normal.
Nobody can see your username on the leaderboard. Only your school’s name and score are shown. Your teacher can see how well your school is doing, but not which pupils earned which points. You do not have to take part if you do not want to.
Sometimes the rules change and we have to update this information. If we make a big change, we will let you know in the app.
You can always ask a parent, carer or other grown-up to help you understand this notice or to contact us. Our email address is support@glurbs.com. They can also contact someone called the Information Commissioners Office if they need to, but we would always suggest they come to us first so that we can fix any mistakes we’ve made.
